Appleton Homes was established in 2017 to build traditional family homes in a range of rural and urban settings. No two developments are the same: each one is crafted to meet the expectations of the people who will buy there.
We build in small numbers, with developments of between one and ten homes, all for private sale.
Appleton Homes is one of three residential brands within Hewitson Development, the residential division of Hewitson Group. Our sister brands are Oaktree Living, for affordable housing, and Albrough Homes, for housing that supports social care.

Michael Hewitson started the business in 1991 with a single JCB 3CX supporting local agricultural operations. Today Hewitson Group is a groundworks-led business delivering construction, plant hire, haulage and residential development, with a forecast turnover in excess of £75 million and over 300 people.
The Group operates from a 300-acre headquarters at Teesside Grange, with regional offices in Bishop Auckland and Team Valley, Gateshead. It remains founder-led, with the next generation running key divisions.
